Cultivating Conversation Student Advisory Committee
The Cultivating Conversation Student Advisory Committee was formed in fall 2023 by Kimberly Goff-Crews, Secretary and Vice President for University Life. This committee, with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students’ representation, plays a crucial role in advancing Cultivating Conversation, a university-wide initiative to amplify the Yale community’s ability, mindset, and support systems to engage across difference.
Role and Function of the Committee
The charge of the Student Advisory Committee is to provide the Office of the Secretary and Vice President for University Life with consistent student input, feedback, and partnership on the Cultivating Conversation initiative.
The committee convenes 2-3 times each semester, during which members are updated on student programming, discuss and propose suggestions for new programs and activities, and provide input and feedback on the progress of the initiative from the student perspective.
These meetings serve as a high-impact platform for students’ voices, ensuring that the initiative remains responsive to the evolving needs and interests of the student body. Students on the committee are integral partners, and their involvement is essential to the continuous development of this long-term initiative across the university.
