Director of Communications
Kira Baum joined the Office of the Secretary and Vice President in October 2025 as director of communications. In this role, she develops and executes communications strategies to advance Yale’s priorities related to university life. Her work includes promoting divisional and university initiatives such as Cultivating Conversation and educational programming, producing communications-related aspects of major university life events and traditions, and collaborating with partners across campus.
Previously, Kira spent thirteen years in Yale’s Office of Development, advancing the university’s fundraising efforts in a variety of writing, editing, and communications roles. Prior to her career at Yale, she worked for major book publishers in New York City. She holds a MA and a BA in English from Fordham University and is also a certified yoga teacher. Kira is a fellow of Branford College.
