Residential College Prizes
Arts Prize (1967)
ARTS PRIZE (1967). Established by Heads of College and Fellows. Awarded at Commencement to that senior who has created a work of art, or who has interpreted creatively the artistic work of others with distinction and merit, while carrying out the objectives of his/her major.
Edgar J. Boell Prize (1975)
EDGAR J. BOELL PRIZE (1975). Colleagues, students, and friends of Professor Boell. Awarded annually to a senior in Jonathan Edwards College, chosen by the Head and Fellows of the College.
Emily L. Saslow (JE '01) Memorial Prize (2006)
THE EMILY L. SASLOW (JE ‘01) MEMORIAL PRIZE (2006). Awarded to a graduating member of the Jonathan Edwards College class who has written an exceptional senior essay on a constitutional issue. If such an essay has not been submitted in a given year, senior essays in American history or political science most relevant to a constitutional issue will be considered.
Henry Edwards Ellsworth Memorial (1960)
HENRY EDWARDS ELLSWORTH MEMORIAL (1960). Mrs. Ellsworth in memory of her husband, Henry Edwards Ellsworth, B.A. 1900. Awarded annually to a senior in Jonathan Edwards College who, in the opinion of the Head of College and Fellows, has written, as part of his/her program of studies, the most distinguished essay or carried out the most significant piece of research during the year.
John Chester Adams Cup
JOHN CHESTER ADAMS CUP. Commemorates one of the original Fellows. Given to a senior for scholarship, character, and loyalty.
New Prize (1960)
NEW PRIZE (1960). Designed to recognize a senior whose mind and character and whose activities and achievements at Yale (outside of Jonathan Edwards) have enhanced the distinction and repute of the College.
Robert Dudley French Award
ROBERT DUDLEY FRENCH AWARD. Named for the first Head of College, this award is given to a senior for intellectual leadership.
Robert Perkins Award
ROBERT PERKINS AWARD. Honors a senior or seniors who have participated in an outstanding way in intramural sports.
Williams H. Schubart, Jr., B.A. 1941, Award
WILLIAM H. SCHUBART, JR., B.A. 1941, AWARD. Given in memory of a graduate of the College and awarded to a senior for a piece of distinguished writing.”
